For us this is a permanent body art form of creating scar designs and patterns on the skin by techniques of cutting and branding, which each leave a different result or look. We see it as esthetic, exciting and sexy. If wished, it has a great potential of being experienced as a ritual or as rite of passage in life. This is definitely one of the more unusual body adornments we practice today. As far as we can see, there is a little chance that "everybody" will have one during our lifetime, so you are most likely to have something special, if you have a scarification. Henny promises: "I will not make two similar scars in my lifetime, unless permission is given from the person I have done the first one on. I also encourage my customers to draw the design themselves and to come with their own ideas, so that the meaning would be the most individual."
Our age limit for scarification is 18.
The minimum price is 1200 Nok.
After seeing the design and the plan we may discuss how long I think it will take me to do it, and what it will cost accordingly. Fairly simple motives, symbols and patterns are suitable designs for scarification. They can be small or large, with curved or straight lines, but should not have two lines right besides each other. A few millimeters in between are needed, so that it would have space to grow into a clear "picture". With cutting, the healed scar is going to have more definite "finer" lines, than with branding, which tends to be more spread out or blurred.
Scarification may be combined or integrated with a tattoo.
We help the skin to start the process of scarring, but it will be your own body that actually does the final artwork. Whether or not the skin will rise into a scar, largely depends on your heritage and on the amounts of melanocyte-stimulating hormone produced by the intermediate pituitary gland and of melatonin secreted by the pineal gland.
That is why we cannot know exactly how your scar will turn out, and how long it will exactly take to heal to its final form. After a healing period of usually anything from 2 months to one year, you will be able to see how about the final scar is going to look.
We also cannot control with our means that it would last your whole life, Exactly as it is. It may be changing, "living" and in some cases almost or totally disappearing. Mostly they do last a lifetime thought, so do not plan it as temporary decoration!
